Activities at Abbeleigh House

Residents are able to enjoy themselves in three designated living rooms, each with a television and ample seating area, on both floors ensuring convenient access for less mobile residents. Daily activities include board games, ranging from bingo to scrabble, as well as ball games and armchair exercises. Sensory massages and stimulation are also offered for those who are experiencing sensory deprivation due to living with dementia. The garden area is well utilised by residents, be it for a gentle stroll or a relaxing read on a gorgeous summer day.

Regular visits from entertainers specialised in magic and music have also proved popular with residents at Abbeleigh House. Outings throughout the year to restaurants, shopping centres and plays are a great success amongst both residents and staff. Summer day trips to the seaside are also well enjoyed and a personal favourite.

Here at Abbeleigh House, aside from activities and outings, day to day care of residents is of utmost importance. Carers strive and persevere to maintain the dignity, individuality and privacy of all residents within a warm and caring atmosphere and in doing so aim to be sensitive to the residents' ever changing needs.
